Stats SA’s revamped Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) questionnaire is now underway.
The QLFS is a household-based sample survey that provides official labour market statistics for individuals aged 15 years or older living in South Africa.
Every quarter, Stats SA gathers insights on:
• Employment and unemployment rates
• Types of employment (formal, informal, self-employed)
• Economic inactivity (e.g. discouraged work-seekers)
• Job-seeking behaviour
• Labour-related demographics
During Phase 1 of the project (January 2026 – March 2026), selected households in the following areas in the Overstrand will be visited:
* February 2026: Onrus / Vermont / Glen Fruin
* March 2026: Meerenbosch / Hermanus Heights / Perlemoenbaai / Overstrand NU (farms)
Phase 2 will commence from April 2026 until June 2026.
The Survey Officer who will be visiting selected households in the above-mentioned areas is Siphelele Hoza. He will be travelling in a Toyota Hilux with registration number BZ51VCZN and will carry clear identification at all times.
